Ingredients:
- 4 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 1/2 C onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed
- 1 red pepper, chopped
- 1 T oil
- 1 t red pepper flakes
- 2 lbs. lean ground beef
- 1 8oz. can tomato sauce
- 2 28oz. cans crushed tomatoes
- 1 T chili powder
- 1 t salt
- 1 t red pepper flakes
- 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- Warm oil and red pepper flakes over medium heat. When heated, saute veggies in oil.
- Add beef and brown.
- Add all remaining ingredients except beans.
- Simmer 45 minutes to 1 hour.
- Add beans and simmer an additional 30 minutes.
That sounds yummy! Never thought of putting celery in chili but will try it. Might even make this for Christmas eve!
